Academic Support for Fall 2021 Return

Welcome to the Division of Academic Affairs

FIT’s Academic Affairs supports and facilitates the work of its faculty and staff to achieve FIT’s mission: to prepare students for professional excellence in design and business through rigorous and adaptable academic programs, experiential learning, and innovative partnerships.

The division includes the School of Art & Design, Jay and Patty Baker School of Business & Technology,  School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Graduate Studies as well as the Center for Continuing & Professional Studies.  Specializing in fashion and related creative  industries, we offer 48 degree programs: 15 associate's degrees; 26 bachelor's degrees; and 7 master's degrees. The college offers 34 minors, while the Center for Continuing and Professional Studies awards 12 different credit certificates along with short non-credit seminars.

In addition to the instructional programs, Academic Affairs supports the Offices of Grants & Sponsored Programs, International Programs, the Gladys Marcus Library, the Presidential Scholars Program, Institutional Research and Effectiveness, Faculty Services and Faculty and Academic Program and Student Academic Support units.

The Faculty and Student Academic Support units include the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Online Learning and Academic Technologies, Academic Advising, Academic Skills Tutoring, Career and Internship Services, Internship Studies, Testing/Placement Services, and the Writing and Speaking Studio.

Together, the division embraces a culture of civility,  diversity, and inclusion while working in concert with other administrative units throughout the college.
