Web Publishing at FIT

Members of the FIT community are welcome to help edit and maintain this website by following these steps:

  • Ask for and receive approval from your supervisor. Maintaining web content is a big responsibility and can be time consuming, depending on the pages for which you are responsible.
  • Attend training: Intro to Web Publishing, Advanced Web Publishing, and other sessions as they are developed and scheduled. (see below)

Editors become the point of contact for and assume responsibility for all pages/directories to which they are assigned. This includes spelling, grammar, link integrity, photos, accessibility, and fact checking.

Editors should have access to and be able to use photo editing software, such as Adobe Photoshop.

All FIT web editors are required to follow our policies and practices, which should be reviewed on a regular basis:

» Accessibility
» Web Content Policy
» Web Style Guide (located in the OU Campus Training Folder accessible to editors)

FIT's Content Management System

OU Campus is the content management system (CMS) used to create and maintain web content on www.fitnyc.edu. It allows us to collaboratively create, edit, review, and publish web content. It also allows new and edited content to be submitted to a workflow for approval prior to publishing. Access is restricted to those editors who have attended training.

The web content coordinator conducts regular training sessions for users.
