Club & Organization Awards

Each Spring, the Fashion Institute of Technology honors a select number of Student-ran clubs and organizations that have shown major contribution to the campus community. Only one application per club or organization will be considered for each award. All awards will be presented at the 2018 Recognition and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 26, 2018.

The deadline to submit applications is April 2nd. Late applications will not be considered.

NEW CLUB OR ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR AWARD
This award will be given to a new club or organization that was created between Fall of 2017 and Spring of 2018, who has shown the most potential, growth, and has benefited the FIT Community since their induction.
*Eligibility: The club or organization must have been created during the 2017-2018 academic year. Clubs and organizations that were once an existing club or organization do not qualify.

PRESIDENT OF THE YEAR AWARD
This award will be given to the President of a club or organization that has shown the most passion and dedication to his/her club or organization and has pushed their members to new levels of success.
*Eligibility: The club or organization President must have been in office during the 2017-2018 academic year.

PROGRAM OF YEAR AWARD
This award will be given to the club or organization that has created an on-campus program or activity that benefited and impacted the FIT Community in a substantial way. Criteria includes, but is not limited to, advertising efforts, student attendance, innovation, and the planning and execution process.
*Eligibility: Annual Programs and activity that have been held two consecutive years in a row do not qualify for this award.  **Club applications will be confirmed by Marissa Stephani and organization applications will be confirmed by Catlin Michael Wojtkowski.

OUTSTANDING ANNUAL PROGRAM AWARD
This award will be given to the club or organization who has held an annual program or activity that has benefited and impacted the FIT Community in a substantial way. Criteria includes, but is not limited to, advertising efforts, student attendance, student feedback and the overall planning and execution process.  *Eligibility: To qualify as an annual program, it must be held at least 2 consecutive years in a row.  **Club applications will be confirmed by Marissa Stephani and organization applications will be confirmed by Catlin Michael Wojtkowski.

COLLABORATIVE PROGRAMMING AWARD
This award will be given to the club(s) or organization(s) who have made the most effort to work together in programming and other activities.

COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD
This award is given to the club or organization that has provided valuable service to the community (i.e. through charity work, joint projects with community organizations, etc.) The recipient of this award should look past the required 2 events needed per academic year.  *Eligibility: To qualify, the community service initiative must not have been sponsored by the Department of Student Life.  **Club applications will be confirmed by Deborah Payton-Jones.

MOST FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE AWARD
This award will go to the most financially responsible club or organization of the academic year. The amount of money raised, involvement of club or organization members, attendance at financial trainings and workshops, how collected funds were used, and the accuracy of important financial documents filed will be considered when choosing a winner.  **Club applications will be confirmed by the Finance Committee.

BEST FUNDRAISER AWARD
This award will go to the club or organization who has hosted the most creative of the fundraisers on campus. Criteria includes, but is not limited to, how much money was raised, the involvement of club or organization members, and what the money funded.

LEGACY AWARD
This award will go to a club or organization that has been in existence for 10 or more years who has provided exemplary programming and activity/representation on and around campus.

ADVISOR OF THE YEAR AWARD
This award is presented to the advisor who has provided leadership and guidance to a student organization and motivated members to their fullest potential.

PUBLICITY AWARD
This award recognizes the student organization with the best publicity campaign of the year. Criteria will include, but is not limited to, flyers, social media, FIT Link usage and profile, etc.

COMMUNICATIONS COUNCIL AWARD
This recognition will be awarded to the publication that has excelled in producing creative, accurate, and meaningful content that encompasses the attitude of FIT. This involves the institution's areas of specialization including business, art, technology and fashion.

CLUB or ORGANIZATION OF THE YEAR
This award will go to a club or organization that has provided a valuable service to the College and the FIT Community through their contribution to campus life. In addition, this club or organization has proven loyalty to the College and faculty through involvement with their programming on campus. This club or organization demonstrates extraordinary community service, collaborative programming, excellent fundraising efforts, and has created new programs for the student body.  **Club applications will be confirmed by Deborah Payton-Jones

 

NEW AWARDS


E-BOARD MEMBER OF THE YEAR
This award will be given to an executive board member, including but not limited to a vice president, treasurer, or secretary member who has shown passion and dedication to their club or organization and the fit campus community. This office has pushed their club or organization members to new levels of success.  *Eligibility: The club or organization officer must be nominated.

OUTSTANDING NEW STUDENT AWARD
This award will go to a new student that has contributed to their club or organization through dedication and service. This person shows great potential and promise in leading in the future. Criteria includes but is not limited to, meeting attendance, program planning and support, and overall contributions to the club or organization.  *Eligibility: To qualify as a new student, the student must be in their first semester or first year at FIT.

OUTSTANDING MEMBER AWARD
This award seeks to recognize the achievements and dedication of a club or organization member. This student has demonstrated outstanding commitment and service to their club or organization. Criteria includes but is not limited to, meeting attendance, program planning and support, and overall contributions to the club or organization.  *Eligibility: This student must not serve as an executive board member, such as president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, or any other elected position of the club or organization.

DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION AWARD
This award seeks to recognize a club or organization who has demonstrated a commitment to inclusion and diversity. This club or organization promotes FIT’s awareness of diversity and inclusion through club and organization activities, meetings, and programs.

THE PHOENIX AWARD
This award seeks to recognize a club or organization who has developed and has shown growth over the course of their existence as a club or organization. The group demonstrates a commitment to strengthening their chapter. Criteria includes but is not limited to, progress through programs, contributions to the campus community, membership growth, communication, etc.
