WHAT IS THE WAITLIST?
Students who are waitlisted will be contacted as space becomes available. You will be contacted through your FIT email. It is important to check your FIT email frequently.
HOW IS MY WAITLIST POSITION DETERMINED?
Waitlist position is determined by your computer-generated lottery number. For students who apply after the lottery closes, your waitlist position will be determined by the date your application was received. You can check updates to your waitlist position by visiting the Housing/Residential Life section through MyFIT and clicking on MyHousing.
WHAT ARE THE CHANCES I'LL BE AWARDED HOUSING?
Although we cannot guarantee housing, the majority of waitlisted applicants will be contacted by the start of fall semester.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY $500.00 DEPOSIT IF I DONT RECEIVE A HOUSING ASSIGNMENT?
If FIT is unable to offer you on campus housing by the start of the fall semester, your deposit will be credited to your FIT student account.
DO I GET TO CHOOSE A ROOMMATE OR ROOM TYPE?
Waitlisted applicants will be assigned to the next available space. While we attempt to honor requests (pending availability), FIT's first priority is to offer on-campus housing. Those who enter room selection will NOT be able to choose a waitlisted applicant as a roommate.
DOES FIT PROVIDE RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS SEEKING OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING?
WHAT IF I AM NO LONGER INTERESTED IN ON-CAMPUS HOUSING?
You must submit an online withdrawal form in order to be removed from the waitlist. Withdrawal charges will apply. Your deposit will ONLY be credited to your FIT student account if FIT is unable to offer you an on-campus housing by the start of the fall semester.
