Students Olivia Priolo and Alyssa Gottlieb Precollege Students Featured on Good Morning America

Two students from FIT’s Precollege program appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America on Tuesday, August 25 for a back-to-school fashion styling contest—and one of them won. Olivia Priolo took home the trophy. Priolo participated in the contest with fellow FIT Precollege student Alyssa Gottlieb and Jaheem Clarke, from the Parsons Scholars program at The New School. The three high school students accepted the challenge to shop for a back-to-school outfit for $75 or less at Macy’s and H&M. They modeled their ensembles live on TV and explained their sense of style and how it influenced the outfit they chose. All three students got to keep the clothes.

FIT Packaging Design Students Host High School Teens for Focus Groups

Students from the High School of Fashion Industries help a Packaging Design Studio class in reviewing a new product concept, targeted to the teen market.

The high school teens make two visits – the first time to review new product ideas and innovative packaging, and the second to review comps (prototypes) of the final packages – and give invaluable feedback, helping to guide the project development of each of the twenty-five students in the Packaging Design BFA program.

With the target market in studio right in front of the product and packaging concepts, FIT's packaging design students are able to ask pointed questions. They probe the teens' likes and dislikes about each concept in comparison to current services and products in that category.
