FIT Website Wins Top Honor

The Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) has named the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) a gold award winner in its 2010 Circle of Excellence awards program for the colleges redesign of its website, A panel of experts selected the website from 54 entries in the Complete Institutional Website category.

In discussing why FIT won the gold, the judges said, It's a perfect site for an institution like this. They thought the academic pages were great and they liked the sense of place provided by the New York skyline on the home page and elsewhere on the site; the monochromatic color scheme; the strong content on the site; the consistency across the site; and the very effective, and pervasive, use of student work across the site.

Six-hundred and fifteen institutions from around the world submitted more than 2,700 entries to the Circle of Excellence awards program. Gold, silver, and bronze awards are given in 41 categories although judges also have the option of giving no awards.

CASE is one of the largest international associations of educational institutions, serving more than 3,400 universities, colleges, schools, and related organizations in 61 countries.
