Continuity of Library Services

As FIT transitions to the online delivery of instruction for the rest of the Spring 2020 semester, the FIT Library will remain available to provide online research and instruction support for our faculty, staff, and students.

Library Materials

Circulating materials that are currently checked out will be due back on 6/1/20 and can be renewed online using My Library Account. Any accrued fines will be waived. Holds on accounts will not be applied. 

Please do not mail back any items until we are able to open the Library. The items will still remain on your account as we will not have access to mail. We will let you know when the Library is open and can return to our normal operations. 

If you have any questions about items you have checked out or when they are due back or currently have a hold on your account due to overdue/lost items, please contact:

Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is accepting article requests from FIT patrons; however, we are unable to accept e-book or physical item requests. This service may take longer to fill than usual (more than 5 days) due to staffing issues. Remote Library Help

The FIT Library offers a number of ways to request help while off campus, including chat, phone, text, and email. In addition, even while off-campus, members of the FIT community can request one-on-one research appointments to be conducted virtually. You can find access to all of these options on our Ask the Library page

Remote Access To Resources

The FIT Library offers remote access to a wide array of online resources. You can search the majority of these resources using OneSearch. You can find a full list of the over 175 databases that we offer access to via our Databases page. To access these resources, sign in using your FIT User ID and Password when prompted. These resources are available anywhere you have access to the internet from desktop computers to mobile devices. Please note: Artnet and Edited are the only two databases not available remotely.

Remote Support For Instruction

The FIT Library is here to help faculty transitioning their courses online. Please visit our Services for Faculty page for information on the services we offer and options for requesting FIT Library content and instruction for your course. 

As you move your course online, remember that FIT has access to a wide array of Open Educational Resources (OER) that can easily be integrated into your Blackboard course. Check out our guide or email Helen Lane ([email protected]) for more information.

Visitor Access

No visitors, including researchers with previously scheduled appointments, will be permitted to enter the Library.
