Production Assistant
Communication and External Relations

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree and 2-3 years experience in print production trafficking and office communications and 1-2 years experience in graphic and/or production design. Ability to simultaneously track and maintain deadlines for multiple projects; and communicate with college clients and external vendors. Strong knowledge of print production services such as writing, photography, design, production, printing, fulfillment and mailing. Working knowledge of Quark, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Microsoft Office programs, on both Mac and PC platforms. Previous experience working with image databases, scheduling software, and project management software is desired. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Experience working within higher education or a non-profit organization also desirable.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Production Assistant reports to and supports the work of the Publications and Advertising Manager in the Office of Communications and External Relations with ongoing responsibility to support the production of the college’s print collateral and advertising.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain project schedules;
  • Regularly monitor and report on project status;
  • Traffic proofs among office personnel, internal college clients, and external vendors;
  • Obtain estimates from, photographers, designers, and other creative service providers;
  • Create printing specifications for bid procurement and obtain estimates;

  • Oversee quality control at press checks;
  • Maintain the department’s photography and print file archives.
Additional responsibilities include supporting the office with graphic design and production services.
