The Fashion Institute of Technology, an internationally renowned college of art
and design, business and technology of the State University of New York, invites

Submit electronic applications to resumes10@fitnyc.edu ENGLISH AND SPEECH DEPARTMENT – Writing Specialist The Department seeks to fill a position in writing with specialization in professional/business writing. The successful candidate will teach an existing Business Writing course, will be expected to develop and teach new writing courses, and take a leadership role in expanding our writing program. Additional responsibilities include mentoring faculty in area of expertise and departmental and college committee work. Qualifications: Ph.D. or an appropriate terminal degree in Professional/Business Communication, Composition/Rhetoric, English, or related field, with an emphasis in professional/business writing. ABD within one year of completion may be considered. Secondary expertise in new media is a plus. Substantial professional accomplishments (publications, conference presentations) and familiarity with instructional technology required. Professional writing experience desirable. DEPARTMENT OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES - Italian The successful candidate must provide evidence of effective college teaching in language and literature and experience with multimedia technology. Qualifications: Ph.D. in Italian (or Comparative Literature with Italian specialization), native or near-native fluency in Italian, and excellent command of English. DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS-Math The successful candidate is expected to teach a variety of subjects including statistics, geometry for art and design students, developmental mathematics and business mathematics. Qualifications: Minimum of sixty appropriate graduate credits required, Ph.D. preferred. Evidence of teaching effectiveness required. Good technology skills and a strong interest in teaching. DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SCIENCES - Economics Qualifications: Master’s degree plus 30 additional, appropriate, graduate credits. Doctorate preferred. Evidence of successful college teaching experience, scholarly work and professional activities in the field of economics, with a background related to international economics. Teach economics courses, e.g., International Economics, Introductory Macro and Introductory Microeconomics. Interact with a diverse student body and faculty and take an active role in curriculum development, including the creation of new courses and the incorporation of innovative techniques in classroom teaching.
