DEPARTMENT OF ACCESSORIES DESIGN
Qualifications: The Department seeks an individual with a minimum of seven years' accessories industry experience and skills in the following areas: footwear design and construction, athletic and non-traditional footwear design and construction, footwear patternmaking and sample making, and a working knowledge of industry technology as it relates to footwear. Must possess excellent managerial and administrative skills, be self-motivated and team oriented. BFA in accessories design or related area preferred. Prior technical teaching experience in footwear a must.

DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNICATION DESIGN – 2 positions
Qualifications for both positions: Master's degree in relevant discipline; six years' senior level industry experience; proficiency in and ability to teach current, industry-standard, design software; and experience with course management systems. Minimum of three years' experience teaching college-level design courses.

Position I: The Department is seeking a graphic designer with expertise in multimedia, including motion graphics, interactive media, and other associated disciplines. Experience teaching courses such as Graphic Design, Web Design, and Motion Graphics. Please submit samples of current professional and published work on DVD, CD-ROM, or the Web. Also, where available, please submit samples of students' web or motion graphics and project descriptions.

Position II: The Department seeks a graphic designer with a high level of versatility in the principles of three-dimensional design and their relation to architecture and industrial design. Professional work must demonstrate an expertise in signage, information graphics, and/or exhibition design. Please submit samples of professional work (and, where available, students' work) on DVD, CD-ROM, or Web.
 


DEPARTMENT OF FASHION DESIGN - Apparel Area
The Department is seeking an apparel designer with a minimum of six years’ experience as a head fashion designer.
Qualifications: College-level teaching experience preferred. Must be proficient in current, industry-standard software. Applicant must be "hands-on" and able to teach specific technical skills: draping, patternmaking, and sewing.



DEPARTMENT OF FASHION DESIGN - Art – 2 positions
The successful candidate should possess a strong fashion portfolio demonstrating women's design, superior drawing skills, flats, and specs. Must have fabric rendering skills and be computer proficient. Familiarity with Illustrator and Photoshop preferred. Please submit three non-returnable, color copies of current work. College-level teaching experience preferred.

Area/Knitwear
Qualifications: The Department seeks a knitwear fashion designer with a minimum of six years’ experience as a knitwear fashion designer in the domestic or global market.

Generalist
Qualifications: A minimum of six years of experience as a fashion designer in the domestic or global market.



DEPARTMENT OF PHOTOGRAPHY - 3 positions
Expected to maintain an updated curriculum; utilize departmental grading rubric and the college's computerized course management system in all courses; and participate in the digital development program sponsored by the FIT Center for Excellence in Teaching.

Generalist
Qualifications: Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in Photography from an accredited institution; master's degree preferred. Minimum of 6 years of commercial photographic experience required. Application must include a portfolio exhibiting fifteen samples of a variety of photographic genres of recently published work, preferably on disk, web site or as a PDF (under 3mb). Candidates must demonstrate a passion for photography and possess extensive experience with photographic equipment used in the studio and on location. Must possess solid design skills and the ability to use color and black and white effectively in traditional film, digital image capture and print media. Must have a working knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite software and excellent skills in the use of the Adobe Photoshop program. Demonstrated supervisory skills required and college-level photography teaching experience preferred.


Photojournalist
Qualifications: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in Photography from an accredited institution; master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 6 years of commercial photographic experience is required in photojournalistic, documentary and newsgathering techniques. Application must include a portfolio demonstrating these areas of specialization. Portfolio must include work published within the last six years, preferably on disk, web site or as a PDF, Quicktime, etc. (under 3mb). Candidates must demonstrate experience using studio and location still and video camera and lighting equipment, and possess a thorough knowledge of traditional film and digital image capture and printing processes. Experience with the use of the latest version of The Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro programs preferred. Demonstrated supervisory skills required and college-level photography teaching experience preferred.


Photo-Filmmaking
Candidate is expected to teach updated curriculum, utilize departmental grading rubric and the Blackboard course management system in all courses, and participate in the Photography faculty’s digital development program sponsored by the FIT Center for Excellence in Teaching.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in photography and/or videography and film from an accredited institution; master’s degree preferred. A minimum of six years of professional photographic experience is required in the areas of multi-media production, cinematography or videography. Applicant must be well versed in the areas of photography and film history, theory and criticism, as well as contemporary trends in the visual arts, and must submit with application a portfolio demonstrating his/her areas of specialization. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge in the use of digital still and video cameras, non-linear video editing systems, 2D and 3D design and animation, and blue screen technologies. College level photography/videography teaching experience preferred.

DEPARTMENT OF FINE ARTS -2 Positions
Qualifications: MFA preferred. Demonstrated leadership abilities, a minimum of six years’ college-level teaching experience, and an extensive exhibition history.

Painting Coordinator:
Duties include but are not limited to coordination of all painting courses.

Painting Generalist:
Requires a strong background in the teaching of traditional skills in painting, drawing, and design as well as non-traditional modes of representation.

Please submit twenty images of current work and twenty images of students’ work in slide, CD or DVD format.
