If you are receiving a Direct Stafford Loan for the first time at FIT, you must complete an Entrance Counseling session before your loan funds can be disbursed. If you were unable to attend the counseling sessions Financial Aid Services hosted at the beginning of the Spring 2018 semester, you may still complete your entrance counseling requirement online at StudentLoans.gov. Exit loan counseling is required when you graduate, leave school, or drop below half-time enrollment. At FIT you must be enrolled in at least 6 credits in your degree program to be considered half-time for Direct Stafford Loans. Financial Aid Services will hold Exit Counseling sessions on-camps at the end of each semester. If you were unable to attend one of our fall sessions, you may still complete your exit counseling online at StudentLoans.gov.
