An internship in the fashion business is optional in the AAS Program (as a related area elective) and required in the BS Program.
You may intern with companies such as Ralph Lauren, Guess, Liz Claiborne, Nike, Macy's, Ann Taylor, JCPenney, Perry Ellis, Ross Stores, and Saks. Internship opportunities with these retailers, apparel manufacturers, or showrooms grant credits towards your degree, offer a rewarding work experience and often result in a full-time position after graduating.
Students must attend scheduled meetings and must apply to participate in this selective program. All internships are coordinated through the Internship Center and must be planned in the semester prior to the opportunity.
FBM students, with a minimum GPA of 3.0, may apply to participate in a five-week Summer Internship Program in London. If selected, students will be enrolled in FM 491, and will have the opportunity to work for retailers, vendors and showrooms...all while experiencing life in London! FM 491 earns students 3 credits towards their major area elective.
