Prof. Patricia Iacobazzo has been an active member of the FIT English and Communication Studies Department for more than two decades.

MA - Speech Arts - concentration in Rhetoric and Shakespeare, Brooklyn College
BA double major in Speech Therapy and Speech/Theatre, Brooklyn College


Teaches Face-to-Face, Blended Learning/Hybrid, and Online courses in Public Speaking, Argumentation and Persuasion, Voice and Articulation, Professional Communication (Interview Skills), Group Dynamics,  and Voices of the Civil Rights; also such interdisciplinary courses as Vocabulary and the Derivation of Language dealing with oral and written composition; Honors Course: Political Rhetoric which concentrate on its historical underpinnings and Honors Course: Theatre as Social Ritual.

Created a private diction studio, "Wanna Tawk Bedda", in New York City, to eliminate regionalisms for English as Second Language businessmen and to acquire specific regionalisms tailored to the professional stage and commercials actor.

Has been the resident diction specialist at Barbizon Modeling School (Commercials, spokesperson courses) and John Robert Powers (interviewing techniques, commercial readings).

Completed Methods in Teaching Education courses (1974)

NYS teacher’s license in secondary education.

Prof. I. coordinated the JJC College Speech Contest bi-annually sponsored by McGraw Hill.  Her students consistently placed 1st and 2nd in the JJC contest as well as going on to winning the CUNY-wide CLASP Speech Contest.

Began professional singing/acting career by winning full scholarship to the Metropolitan Opera Studios for voice training.

Sung over 20 major operatic roles spanning the classics such as Bellini's NORMA and Mozart's NOZZE DI FIGARO to Verdi's OTELLO (Desdemona), BALLO IN MASCHERA (Amelia), IL TROVATORE (Leonora) to the verismo style of Leoncavallo's PAGLIACCI (Nedda) and Puccini's MADAMA BUTTERFLY and SUOR ANGELICA.

Seasoned professional in Opera, Operetta, Musical Comedy, film TV and classical acting with a specialty in Shakespeare.

Union member of Actors Equity, Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA.602
