Spring 2018 Counseling Center Programs

College Skills Building Workshop Series
This 5-week workshop series begins the week of February 5 for ALL students who want to gain skills to improve or enhance their academic performance. Each workshop topic will take place twice a week, for about 50 minutes, so, if you miss a topic on Tuesday, then just show up on Thursday as the same material will be covered. Contact the Counseling Center for more specific information.

This group is for international students in their first semester at FIT. The group will help you adjust to your new culture and environment, will give you a place to share your experiences and offer you support in your transition to FIT.

Hook-Up/Shake-Up Group
This group is for students who want to learn how to be a better friend or partner, and learn ways to have healthier, more satisfying relationships. The group requires advance sign-up and will be scheduled based on availability. Contact Alycia Scott for more information.

Circle of Strength Support Group
A support group for survivors of sexual assault and abuse: A safe place for survivors to learn how to cope with stress and trauma and heal by sharing their stories and supporting one another. Begins the week of February 20th. This group requires advance sign-up. Contact Gloria Jetter for more information.

Grief Support Group
Have you lost a loved one? Finding it hard to talk about it with others? If so, please join us for the Grief Support Group. Meet and talk with fellow students experiencing loss in a safe and supportive setting. For more information, please call the Counseling Center at (212) 217-4260 or stop by Room A212B and ask for Jen-Mai Wong.

International Students Re-entry
Wondering how to share the experiences you've had here or how to deal with things that may have changed at home while you were away? Faculty from the Counseling Center will be offering a new, two-part workshop, "Returning Home: Preparing to Re-enter Your Home Country," designed to ease this transition.
