We receive more than 7,000 jobs a year and are highly successful in placing our students and graduates in career-related positions.
Full-time career-related positions available to graduating seniors and alumni are available online at FIT's Career Services Job Bank (CSJB). Additionally part-time, freelance and full-time jobs that do not require a degree are also available to all students via our CSJB. These jobs provide an excellent way of gaining relevant work experience and supplementing your income. All job leads are updated daily and span the gamut of the fashion and related industries.
To gain access to these services, students must visit their college email and look for our Welcome email sent at the beginning of each semester with information that will allow access. Alumni must register online if they do not already have an account. Accounts were automatically created for all enrolled students and those graduating after 2008. Please bring a valid ID if you wish to visit on campus.
JOB FAIRS/ ON-CAMPUS RECRUITMENT
During the fall and spring semesters, we hold job fairs where many companies recruit for part-time and full-time positions. In addition, employers are invited on campus throughout the year to interview students and graduates to meet immediate hiring needs. See Announcements.
SEMINAR SERIES/CAREER DAYS
Career days and information sessions are frequently cosponsored with professional organizations including the Advertising Women of New York (AWNY) and the Fashion Group International. These events provide students with excellent industry information as well as opportunities for networking and developing contacts.
Each semester, we also run a full series of workshops aimed at preparing students entering the world of work on resume writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies and more. See Announcements.
