Employee and Work Guidelines

Employee Scheduling

Many employees continue to work from home, but FIT employees who must work on campus maintain social distance by working at different times. This includes staggered start/end times, staggered lunch/rest breaks, staggered hours or days, and staggered weeks in office and at home, and part-time remote work on alternate weekdays.

Review the Return to Work Campus Guide for specific guidelines and instructions.

Health and Safety Protocols on Campus and Building Access

Refer to the Campus and Facilities page for details on health procedures to follow if you are returning to campus to work.

Find specific instructions about entering FIT buildings, using #CampusClear, and updating your IDs here.

Remote Teaching and Academic Support

The Division of Academic Affairs has created a guide to provide pedagogical assistance to faculty as the college continues with remote instruction. Visit Academic Affairs' Remote Teaching and Academic Support page.

Training

Details on training sessions on new technology, resources, and health procedures can be found here

Reporting

All employees must immediately report any symptoms of COVID-19 experienced (or if they observe a colleague exhibiting such symptoms) on campus during the work day to their supervisor and report it to the Office of Human Resources via the HR Solution Center.

See also what to do if you experience symptoms on campus here.

Accommodations

FIT acknowledges that it is a community of individuals with different abilities and personal situations. If you have been instructed to return to work and have concerns about doing so due to a medical condition or because you are in a high-risk category, you may request an ADA reasonable accommodation related to returning to the workplace. See more details here.

Best Practices for Remote Work

For those employees who continue to work from home, review these best practices for working remotely.
