Tigers Take Second Overall at Queensborough CC Invitational

(Bronx, NY) There was nothing but pure excitement in the air around the FIT Tigers yesterday, as they got on the line for the first time to compete for their 2014 Cross Country season. The FIT Tigers had their opening debut at the infamous Van Courtland Cross Country Course on Sunday, September 14th at the Queensborough Cross Country Invite. Tigers Take on the Mustangs

(New York, NY) This Thursday, the Tigers celebrated their first home game of the season with a challenging match against the Division I Monroe Mustangs. All three sets started off point for point as both teams found their own tempos. Monroe slowly showed their strength, building a solid lead by the end of each set. FIT performed well, keeping a positive attitude and high energy throughout the entirety of the match, despite the score board. Read More

Tennis Anyone?


With the U.S. Open so much in the air right now, my mind doesn’t turn to Flushing Meadows, but rather right here to 27th Street where, for years, we have been turning out championship tennis teams. That may be surprising to many people who don’t automatically link FIT with tennis or soccer or any sport, for that matter. But the fact is we have 15 teams that compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association which is made up of about 600 two-year colleges across the country. And last year alone, four of our teams placed in the top ten nationally–with the women’s tennis team coming in second two years in a row. Read More

A Strong Start for Women's Soccer

(Brooklyn, NY) This past Saturday marked a strong start for the FIT women’s soccer team in a close match against Union County College.  With a deficit of 2 goals to none at the end of the first half, the team was eager to bounce back. Within just two minutes after the break, a goal by forward Tori Macrina put the Tigers back in the game and an intense second half ensued. Both teams pushed forward until the very end resulting in a 4-4 tie at the end of regulation. In the end, Union CC found the back of the net in overtime to end the game 5-4.Read More
