New Student Advisement

Congratulations and welcome to the FIT community!

The Academic Advisement Center is looking forward to getting to know you and having the opportunity to work with you during your academic career.

Appointments with academic advisors can be made using our online appointment system  after you receive your FIT username and password. 

In addition to in-person appointments, we are also available to schedule online and telephone advisement sessions. Please refer to the instructions for online and telephone sessions. Appointments are scheduled on Eastern time, so please account for any time difference when requesting a session.

Visit our Recently Admitted Students page for information to help you prepare for your arrival on campus. You can also expect to receive separate communications about a number of items, including academic advisement, course registration and New Student Orientation.

How do I get a Degree Audit? (DARS)

DARS is the document used during your advisement session to review your transfer credits and degree curriculum requirements. This page will teach you how to retrieve this document using the MyFIT portal. The Academic Advisement Center has also prepared a video to help you understand this process. Please bring a copy of your DARS when meeting with your advisor.

Academic Minors

Students at FIT have the opportunity to pursue an academic minor, a selection of courses focused on a particular discipline or a combination of disciplines. This provides a more cohesive program of study and a deeper understanding of the chosen fields.

June 7 DARS Information Session 2-3 PM

The College is closed on Fridays starting Friday, June 1, 2018 and continuing through Friday, August 10, 2018 (with the exception of Friday, July 6, 2018, where the college will be open.
