New Student Advisement

Congratulations and welcome to the FIT community!

The Academic Advisement Center is looking forward to getting to know you and having the opportunity to work with you during your academic career.

Appointments with academic advisors can be made using our online appointment system  after you receive your FIT username and password. 

In addition to in-person appointments, we are also available to schedule online and telephone advisement sessions. Appointments are made using Eastern time, so please be mindful of any time difference when scheduling your appointment

How do I get a Degree Audit? (DARS)

DARS is the document used during your advisement session to review your transfer credits and degree curriculum requirements. This page will teach you how to retrieve this document using the MyFIT portal. The Academic Advisement Center has also prepared a video to help you understand this process. Please bring a copy of your DARS when meeting with your advisor.

Academic Minors

Students at FIT have the opportunity to pursue an academic minor, a selection of courses focused on a particular discipline or a combination of disciplines. This provides a more cohesive program of study and a deeper understanding of the chosen fields.

May 13 Fall 2019 priority registration begins for newly admitted Presidential Scholars, ITM and FBM Online programs 
May 14 Fall 2019 registration begins for newly admitted Bachelor students
May 14 Advisement begins for all AAS students entering Fall 2019
May 28 Fall 2019 registration begins for newly admitted 1 year AAS students
May 29 Fall 2019 registration begins for newly admitted 2 year AAS students
