From Muslin to Mulch

The fashion industry produces tons of muslin waste that ends up in landfills. But at FIT, two students created a thermophilic Muslin Compost System that, with the help of worms and bacteria, turn leftover cotton muslin into compost for campus green spaces.

Smart Outfit

Technical Design students created clothes that were both stylish and functional for disabled veterans.

You never know who you might see at FIT’s subway stop. Illustration BFA grads present Underground Aliens, their view of ETs waiting for the 1 train, just like everyone else.

Global Fashion Capitals

Emerging fashion centers around the globe are joining established capitals like Paris, New York, and Milan. This exhibition explores the globalization of fashion and the rise of 16 new capitals, from Berlin to Seoul, São Paulo to Mumbai. The Museum at FIT, Jun 2-Nov 14. Free admission.
