COMPUTER ANIMATION AND INTERACTIVE MEDIA BFA

Applicant Qualifications
Students seeking admission to FIT’s Computer Animation and Interactive Media BFA program must first hold an Associate’s degree from one of the FIT programs suggested below, or an equivalent degree from an accredited and approved institution, or 60 credits towards a Bachelor’s degree.

All applicants must have completed the following course work or its equivalent prior to application:

  • CG211 – COMPUTER-ASSISTED DESIGN
  • CG212 – INTRODUCTION TO THREE-DIMENSIONAL COMPUTER MODELING
  • CG213 – TWO-DIMENSIONAL COMPUTER ANIMATION
  • CG221 – DESIGN AND AUTHORING FOR INTERACTIVE MEDIA I

THIS BACCALAUREATE PROGRAM IS BEST SUITED TO APPLICANTS FROM THESE FIT ASSOCIATE-LEVEL PROGRAMS:

  • Communication Design
  • Fine Arts
  • Illustration
  • Interior Design
  • Photography

Admissions Information

ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS: See above for degree requirements.

ADMISSIONS DEADLINE: The Admissions deadline date is January 1, 2013.

REQUIRED GPA:  Please refer to the admissions website for entrance requirements. Portfolio review is required for all external applicants and FIT internal transfer students.

PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS: Portfolios must be evaluated by the Computer Animation and Interactive Media department. By appointment only.

PORTFOLIO REVIEW DATES: Applicants must contact the Computer Animation and Interactive Media office to schedule an appointment to show their portfolios.

ADMISSIONS DECISIONS: Applicants will be notified of their admissions decisions by mail, via the Office of Admissions. Please do not contact the Computer Animation and Interactive Media department for your decision.
