FASHION DESIGN BFA
Applicant Qualifications
Students seeking admission to FIT’s Fashion Design BFA program must first hold an Associate degree from FIT Fashion Design or an equivalent Fashion Design degree from an accredited and approved institution.
This baccalaureate program is available to applicants from this FIT associate-level program:
- Fashion Design
If you do not hold this degree and still wish to apply, please schedule an appointment with the department assistant chairperson/student related to discuss your options.
Transfer students from other accredited colleges who have earned at least 60 credits towards a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design may apply for the FIT Fashion Design BFA program.
Sewing, Pattern Making, Draping, and Art Design skills are required.

ADMISSIONS DEADLINE: The Admissions deadline date is January 1, 2013.
REQUIRED GPA: Please refer to the admissions website for entrance requirements.
PORTFOLIO REQUIREMENTS: Portfolios and garments must be evaluated by the Fashion Design department.
ADMISSIONS DECISIONS: Applicants will be notified of their admissions decisions by mail, via the Office of Admissions. Please do not contact the Fashion Design department for your decision.
