The FIT Library is located on the 4th, 5th, and 6th Floors of the Goodman Resource Center (E Building), 27th Street at Seventh Avenue, New York, NY 10001.

Who can use the library?
Anyone with a valid FIT or SUNY ID card — current FIT and SUNY students, faculty, administrators and staff members -- can use the FIT Library at any time.
Students at the High School of the Fashion Industries also have walk-in access.
Because access to the library is restricted for everyone else--students at other colleges and universities, researchers, alumni/former FIT students, and for the general public, please see Visit the Library for details.
Do I need anything to get into the library?
A valid FIT ID is required for entry into the all College buildings, including the Goodman Center (E building) which houses the Library.
Non-FIT visitors (including alumni) must have an appointment and be on the Security Visitor List for entry in the lobby of the Goodman Resource Center (E Building).

How do I find and contact a specific library unit?

See what items I have checked out of the library and/or renew items I’ve checked out?
Renewals may be done through My Account, which you can also access via the StyleCat Library Catalog. Materials may be renewed on or before their due date. Details on length of borrowing, renewals, and fines can be found on the Circulation Services page.
Find course materials on reserve?
You can use the FIT Library's StyleCat Library Catalog to search for items on reserve using the author and /or title of the specific book, DVD.
You can also use the Reserve module of StyleCat to search by the name or number of your course, your instructor's last name, or the name of the specific item (book, DVD, pamphlet, etc). If the library does not own the item but an instructor has lent us a copy for reserve, it will only appear in the Reserve module.
Remember that the library does not have every item that you might need for your classes. See the Reserves page for more information.

What happened to the "Digital Library"?
We hope you find our new Databases lists easy to use. You can easily find a specific database you need or have used before in the A-Z list, or browse our expanded tagged lists of Databases by subject or type.
How can I use databases from off-campus?
Start with the updated list of Databases
What information do I need to access the library databases, on campus and off?
Use the same FIT network user name & password that you use for MYFIT, your FIT e-mail, logging in to campus computers, ANGEL, etc.
Any additional instructions or password information needed for some databases will be supplied to you after you log in.

I don't know my FIT username or password or it’s just not working for me today. Can I use different information to access the databases?

Most of our databases are licensed for use only by current FIT students and employees, so you must use your own user name & password to access them.
Because of licensing restrictions, there are no other ways to connect to the system remotely.

Why do I get the error messages like “not authorized to access this database” or “Sorry, the information you submitted was invalid”?
