Registration Instructions

Check Placement
Placement in English writing and Math is required for incoming students.  You can check your placement status on MyFit:  under Online Information System click Placement Test, then click on "Placement test results."  If FIT has received your scores, you will be advised which course(s) to take. If you do not see any placement information online, it is because the scores have not been received or downloaded by FIT. Scores are downloaded once a week by the School of Liberal Arts Dean’s Office, Business and Liberal Arts Center Room 623, tel: 212-217-4320. Go to www.fitnyc.edu/placementtests for more information about placement.

If you have not been granted appropriate transfer credit or submitted SAT or ACT scores or taken the FIT placement tests you cannot register for English, Math, or Science courses until you do so.  You should register for courses that do not require placement like social science or history of art.  You might be able to change your registration after your placement information is updated. August 30 is the last day to add/drop courses for fall 2013.

Check Transfer Credits
To ensure that your transfer credits are applied to your FIT record, make sure that all final, official transcripts have been sent to Admissions, Feldman Center Room 139.  To check your transfer credits, please see your degree audit (DARS). Any course(s) granted as transfer credit will be printed with a T grade on your degree audit in the appropriate place for the requirement. Go to www.fitnyc.edu/transfercredit for more information about what transfers to FIT.
