Credit Courses (Non-Degree)
Continuing Education offers you the opportunity to take credit,
non-degree courses at FIT with no application required. You just
register, pay and go to class.
Upcoming Registration Periods:
- Fall 2010 Registration begins May 10 and is ongoing through the start of the term (Classes run August 30 - December 22)

- FINDING
COURSES: Start by choosing your courses
from our course schedules
- Course dates are based on the Academic Calendar for each term
- Course Descriptions are available (document is in PDF format)
- If you are developing a portfolio, check out some Portfolio Development Recommendations from the chairperson of your desired department
- If you need course specific advisement or to waive a prerequisite (based on significant work/life experience), attend one of our Advisement & Registration Sessions or contact a departmental advisor
- REGISTERING
FOR CLASSES: Now that you have picked your
courses, it is time to register
- Registration Option 1: Request a username & password, then register online
- Registration Option 2: Register in-person at the
Registration Center (B-103)
- If you are taking an English or mathematics course, you may need to take a placement test before enrolling
- MyFIT is the online registration system at FIT
- Step-by-step registration instructions are available
- If you are not a US Citizen, review some important information for International Students.
- PAYING
YOUR BILL: If you have not yet done so, be sure to
pay your
bill
- Tuition & Fee payment must be made at the time of registration to ensure your seat in the course
- You will want to prove your New York State Residency if you have lived in NY State for a year
- FIT
HOUSING: If you wish to live in FIT housing, then submit an
application for summer housing
- Summer Housing is available for part-time students
- Fall & Spring Housing is available for full-time students only, both degree & non-degree (you must be enrolled in 12 credits or more at FIT)
- FOR NEW STUDENTS: Now that you are fully registered, it is time to prepare for your course(s)!
- If you plan to take courses through Continuing Education and then apply to a degree program, learn how credits transfer from non-matriculated (non-degree) status to matriculated (degree) status.
- If you plan to apply to a daytime degree program, Admissions will be your point of contact.
- The Evening/Weekend Degree Programs offer associate and bachelor degrees for adults.
- Former students can request a transcript for personal use or to forward to a school.
