FINANCIAL AID FILING DEADLINES

Financial Aid application deadlines for "priority consideration":

February 15th for NEW APPLICANTS
March 1st for CURRENT STUDENTS

You may still be eligible for some programs even if you apply after the deadline. Priority is given to early filers for limited grants, scholarship funds, and work study. If you file late you may also be responsible for paying your charges from your own resources or need to set up a payment plan with FIT and wait for a refund once your aid is processed. The final deadline is usually the beginning of the last month of your last semester.

                                                          
SPRING ADMISSIONS  - November 1st

If you have been admitted to a degree program beginning in the Spring 2013, you may apply now for financial aid, the deadline for priority consideration is November 1st.  Please keep in mind, that after January 1, 2013 you will also need to apply for the 2013 - 2014 academic year, that deadline is March 1, 2013 for priority consideration.

EXIT COUNSELING

If you are graduating this semester and have Direct Stafford Loans, it is required that you complete an Exit Counseling Session before your graduate. A list of sessions can be found on our website at Direct Stafford Loan Counseling Sessions. ENTRANCE COUNSELING

If you are receiving your first Direct Stafford Loan at FIT you must complete an Entrance Counseling Session before your loan can be disbursed.. If you were unable to attend any of the Entracne Counseling Sessions you may still complete your Entrance requirement online at www.studentloans.gov.  If you have not completed your Master Promissory Note (MPN) you may also do that on this same website  www.studentloans.gov.
