Evening/Weekend Two-Year AAS Degree

Online registration begins at 9 am Eastern Standard Time on Wednesday, January 12  and ends at 5 pm Eastern Standard Time on Friday, January 14. Classes can fill up quickly, so try to register as early as possible.

Follow these step by step instructions for a successful registration:

Step 1: Register for all Major and Related Area Courses
For your first semester, you must register for a specific set of major and related area courses listed below.  Each course section (meeting time) has a unique Course Registration Number (CRN) which is the four- or five-digit numbers listed in the first column of the Schedule of Classes (pdf version). You should match the CRNs listed below to the times in the Schedule of Classes (pdf version) to see when the classes are offered for your major.

Print out the printer-friendly instructions below for your reference when you register.  You must select from the Course Registration Numbers (CRN) below or you will get a Field of Study-Major Restriction error message when you try to register.  See the Registration Instructions below for more information.

Transfer Credits
To ensure that our transfer credits are applied to your FIT record, make sure that all final, official transcripts have been sent to Admissions, Room C139.  To check your transfer credits, please see your degree audit (DARS).  A degree audit is a computer-based assessment that shows the progress you are making toward meeting your degree requirements.  Any course granted as transfer credit will be printed with "T" grade on your degree audit in the appropriate place for the requirement.  Degree audits are available in the Online Information System section of MyFIT. Go to www.fitnyc.edu/DARS for full instructions.

Placement
Placement in English writing and Math is required for incoming students. To check our placement status, please see your degree audit (DARS).  Go to www.fitnyc.edu/dars for full instructions.  If you have not submitted SAT or ACT scores or taken the FIT placement tests by January 11, you cannot register for your English, math, or science courses at this time.  Instead you should plan on registering for two courses in disciplines that don’t require placement, like Social Science or History of Art. If your placement results require you to take developmental coursework— Educational and/or Math Skills courses— please note that this will be in addition to, and not part of, the required eight courses. Go to www.fitnyc.edu/3522.asp for details.
