Cost of Attendance (COA)

This is the estimated total amount of costs to attend FIT.  Costs will vary from student to student and may change each year depending on residency, program, housing, etc. Below are examples of the estimated cost of attendance (COA) for a student that is a New York State resident commuting to FIT and an out-of-state student living in a dormitory, for the Academic Year 2009-2010.

There are 2 kinds of costs included in the cost of attendance, direct and indirect costs.

Direct costs are costs that will be paid directly to the Fashion Institute of Technology, such as tuition, fees, and dormitory room and board.

Indirect costs would not be paid to FIT directly, but would include estimated expenses such as transportation, books and supplies, off-campus housing and personal expenses.
