Scholarships and Endowments
Scholarships grant critical assistance to those who cannot otherwise afford to take advantage of the education and professional training we provide. FIT alumni and other generous friends of the college have fostered a long-standing tradition of contributing to the success of our students.
FIT welcomes gifts in any amount dedicated to scholarship assistance for those who are eligible. Such funds are combined with other scholarship support received from alumni and friends. The college deeply appreciates the opportunity such gifts provide to further FITís stated mission: to prepare students for professional excellence in design, fashion and business by providing the premier educational experience that fosters creativity, career focus and a global perspective.

Honor Scholarship Contributors
In 2003, FIT launched "Endowing Excellence," a scholarship campaign in order to increase our endowed scholarship funds by $10 million.
A gift to the Fashion Institute of Technology Foundation of $2,500 or more can create a scholarship that will provide tuition assistance in your name or that of someone you choose for a given year. Annual scholarships are not awarded in perpetuity and are not listed in the FIT catalog or on the website.
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
FITís Office of Financial Aid chooses eligible students to receive scholarship assistance. We encourage donors to designate special criteria that reflect personal interests and concerns, such as merit in a particular area of study. We are pleased to assist you in establishing those guidelines. Merit scholarships are defined as a GPA of 3.0.
