You have to laugh, you can’t take yourself too seriously. The reality is we sell perfume and lipstick. Still, it is a very tough business environment now, and it’s especially important to keep perspective, and stay true to yourself. I need to stay focused, too.

When I’m working late at my desk and no phone is ringing I can tune in, listen, and then usually something creative comes up. If you’re stressing yourself to come up with something, all you come up with is stress. So I think it comes down to being focused. But also I have to allow myself to be more creative outside of here. Whether I’m making jewelry or making collages with my son, I have to have some kind of creative outlet to keep it flowing. I can do that here at work too. We have fun.
