Receipt of Your Diploma

Commencement exercises are ceremonial and symbolic; participation in this event is not to be confused with actual graduation from the college. Students do not officially graduate until they have filed their graduation application, paid the application fee, and successfully completed all degree requirements as outlined by their major. Once you have met these requirements, your diploma will be mailed to you, along with a final transcript of your complete academic history.

May Graduates
Students who have filed their application, paid the fee by December 3, and completed their requirements by the end of the spring semester will receive their diplomas in the summer.

July Graduates
Students who have filed their application, paid the fee by December 3, and completed their requirements by the end of the summer session will receive their diplomas in the fall.

December Graduates
Students who have filed their application, paid the fee by May 1, and completed their requirements by the end of the fall semester will receive their diplomas in the spring.

January Graduates
Students who have filed their application, paid the fee by May 1, and completed their requirements by the end of the winter session will receive their diplomas in the spring.

Students who have not completed all degree requirements by the date indicated on their application are ineligible for graduation, and will be notified in writing. No further action will be taken until the students notify the Registrar's Office of their plans to complete the remaining requirements.

Students who need confirmation of graduation before the diploma is received may request either of the following:

• An official college transcript with degree information posted. Request a transcript.
• A degree verification letter with major, degree and date of graduation signed by the Director of the Registrar's Office with the college seal affixed.  You can also request a degree verification letter in person in Feldman Center, Room158.
