Reciprocal Exchange Program
Textile/Surface Design students have the opportunity to study at Winchester School of Art in a structured and diversified art program for students that parallels studies at FIT. A typical week includes studio practice, print design, painting, nature studies, seminars on 19th and 20th century art and design, the development of a specialized subject, and visiting lecturers. Accessibility to London’s many museums helps in researching design projects. By the end of the semester, students will have a collection of work for their portfolio.
Students earn credit towards the 6th semester of their Bachelor’s degree and as Reciprocal Exchange students pay FIT tuition and fees.
• Matriculation in a Bachelor's degree program.
• Textile/Surface Design students must apply online and obtain academic advisement and the approval of the department Chairperson/Advisor.
Fall Term: September — December
Students may live in Winchester’s newly built housing complex (if space is available), Erasmus Park, which offers students self-catering accommodations in flats or houses.
