Academic Standards

The academic performance of each matriculating student at FIT is reviewed at the end of the fall and spring semesters to ensure that students are progressing through their major program of study.  Students making unsatisfactory progress are identified and their academic standing is designated based on academic standing regulations published in the FIT Undergraduate Catalogue.

More information on student academic standing and the appeal procedure can be found at Academic Standards/Probation and Dismissal.

The college strongly recommends that all students on academic probation participate in the a "Choices for Success" workshops, or see a counselor individually.  The workshops and individual sessions help students to identify and resolve problems contributing to poor academic performance.  Please call us at 212 217.4260 or visit us in Room A212B to sign up or make an appointment.
