Off Campus Housing

Attending college in New York City offers many educational and cultural opportunities for students. Living in the city and finding off-campus housing requires patience and determination since apartment hunting can be competitive and expensive.

New York City is composed of five boroughs - Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Queens, and Staten Island. Housing in Manhattan is often twice as expensive as the outer boroughs or New Jersey. Your rent could be substantially lower if you are willing to travel a little farther. When looking for living accommodations, make safety a priority. Listings are only accessible by current FIT students who must supply a username and password when logging into the secure area.

How to access listings online

• Log into MyFIT
• Choose “STUDENT” tab
• Select “Online Information System”
• Select “Off Campus Listings”

These listings are provided by private landlords, real estate brokers, and individuals who are looking to share rental costs on their apartments, and are posted as a service to FIT students. Neither FIT nor the residential life staff reviews the listings for content; therefore, the college assumes no responsibility for either the accuracy of the listing or the nature or quality of the arrangements described in the listings.
