Summer Housing Information

As of April 14, 2009 the summer housing application for FIT students has been posted. Current FIT residents are no longer required to be enrolled in a summer class at FIT. Due to construction projects that are being planned for summer ‘09, all applicants will be assigned to Kaufman Hall. Please check postings and emails for updates. Apply now!

Payment due date to reserve your summer housing space will be emailed to your FIT e-mail account.

Tips to Prepare for May Move Out!

  • Plan a day in NYC with a parent or friend (with a car) on May 9th or 10th! (Remember the last night of overnight visitation is May 13, 2009).  End your day by packing up non-essentials and sending them home.
  • Keep only those items you need for finals week. We make this easy by having carts available from 12 noon to 4:00 pm and from 6pm to 11:30 pm on May 9, 10, 16 and 17. Carts are also available weekdays. See cart schedule information.
  • Packages must be properly packed and sealed with packing tape. (Many neighborhood businesses will give residents boxes that are suitable for packing). Shipping address must be clearly written with a black marker.

UPS has opened a store at 328 Eighth Ave (between 26th and 27th Streets). They are open Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 8:00pm, Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm. If possible, we encourage residents to consider packing and shipping items before they are tied up with finals and term projects. The residential life staff in our Coed mailroom can assist you with questions regarding instructions for shipping.
