New Student Orientation

Welcome New FIT Students!

As a new student at FIT, we know that you and your family are both excited and filled with questions. FIT’s orientation programs are designed around you, helping to uncover the answers to all the questions you have, connecting you to your academic department and educating you on the many valuable student resources.  Be prepared to meet new people, make new friends, and to start your journey to commencement!

Throughout the year, there are five orientation programs at FIT:

Bachelor's Degree Transfer Orientation in June
Required for all New Incoming Fall Bachelor's Degree Transfer Students  

Fall Orientation in August  
Required for all New Incoming Fall Students   

Evening/Weekend Fall Orientation in August
Required for all New Evening/Weekend Degree Fall Students 

Spring Orientation in January 
Required for all New Incoming Transfer & Spring Students

Evening/Weekend Spring Orientation in Spring
Required for all New Evening/Weekend Degree Spring Students

All orientation programs are led by the FIT Student Ambassadors, who will serve as your guides and mentors.  Aas current students, they are ready to answer your questions about life at FIT and in New York City.

All families are invited to a special welcome session led by the Dean of Students that will provide an opportunity for questions and to learn how  FIT partners with parents and guardians in the development of our students.
