Admissions
The Presidential Scholars Program is open to incoming freshmen and incoming juniors. Students are admitted for the fall semester only. Apply as soon as you complete the FIT application. Notification will be received by April 1.
Incoming Freshmen
Competitive admission based on:
- cumulative high school GPA of B+ or better
- essay
- SAT or ACT scores
The Presidential Scholars Program does not have a minimum SAT /ACT score for admissions. While the average SAT total score has been approximately 1830, the honors committee welcomes and always offers admission to students with a range of scores. - two letters of recommendation
Incoming Juniors
Competitive admission based on:
- essay
- two letters of recommendation
- GPA of 3.5
We encourage study abroad. If you are applying as an incoming junior, please advise where you intend to study.
Transfer Students
The program accepts transfer students. They are admitted to the first or fifth semester in the Fall.
International Students
We welcome applications from students from all over the world.
One-year Students
This program is not designed for one-year students since they are not required to take Liberal Arts courses.
Important Dates for High School Students
Apply in the fall of your senior year or at the latest by February 12, 2013. Do not wait for your FIT admissions decision.
If you are not accepted into the Presidential Scholars Program as in incoming freshman, you can reapply in the fall of your sophomore for admission in the fall of your junior year.
