When to Apply
FIT's degree programs are highly competitive, and students are strongly encouraged to apply early.
Spring 2013 – October 1, 2012
Fall 2013 – January 1, 2013
Please review the timeline below to ensure that all requested materials are received by the FIT Admissions office before the posted deadlines. Applicants are encouraged to allow enough time to complete FIT’s Admissions requirements by applying as early as August.
Decisions will be rendered on complete applications only.
TIMELINE
AUGUST
The State University of New York (SUNY) Online applications for the upcoming Spring 2013 and Fall 2013 semesters are now available!
For entry into the Spring semester:
Application Deadline: OCTOBER 1st
The SUNY application must be filed before October 1st to receive priority consideration for the Spring semester.
Supplemental Materials Deadline: NOVEMBER 1st
All supplemental materials must be received before November 1st to receive priority consideration for the Spring semester. These supplemental requirements usually include your academic documents, the Academic History and Essay form, and, for design applicants, a portfolio. In addition, all applicants whose first language is not English must provide an official TOEFL or IELTS score; this includes applicants who have been living in the United States. Therefore, it is important to allow sufficient time to complete all admissions requirements.
DECEMBER – JANUARY
Additional information for Recently Accepted Students will be mailed separately and additional information will be available online. All final transcripts and test scores must be submitted before students register for the Spring semester.
