The Office of International Student Advisors assists all nonimmigrant students admitted to FIT degree programs in matters pertaining to F-1 status. Prospective international students can find general immigration advice in the International FAQ. For information on academic offerings, requirements, admissions eligibility, and transfer credit guidelines, visit Admissions or contact the FIT Admissions Office at or 212 217.3760. All admitted students with questions concerning the International Student Financial Statement, F-1 Visa, Travel and Entering the US, F-1 Status and Transferring F-1 Status, as well as information on F-1 Employment Options, should click on the appropriate link. Any questions not answered here may be referred to this office.
Mandatory Orientation
All admitted F-1 students are required to attend the International Student Orientation at the beginning of their first term in an FIT degree program. It is recommended that other nonimmigrant students also attend this discussion of terms and conditions of F-1 status; the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS) holds all nonimmigrants responsible for observing the regulations affecting their status.
