FERPA

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) as amended is a Federal Law known as the Buckley Amendment. FERPA protects the privacy of a studentís educational records and applies to all educational agencies or institutions that receive funds under any program administered by the Secretary of Education. As a result of this law, students must give written consent for interested third parties (including parents) to receive their specified financial aid or other educational information. The FERPA Form for Financial Aid Services will only cover the student's financial aid information and will require the student to update a form for each academic year.
