Christine Barber

Christine brings more than twenty-years of research experience to Gensler. As research director, she works closely with Gensler practice area leaders and staff to oversee a broad range of research initiatives designed to deliver strategic insight to clients and provide a larger context for design direction.

Her professional expertise is grounded in social, cultural, technological and demographic trends, interpreting their implications for the design and use of physical space. In previous roles, she worked with leading companies across the globe to deliver strategic insights and consultative expertise. Clients have included companies in industries as diverse as retail, law, banking, automotive, professional services, consumer electronics, and technology and internet businesses.

Christine is a published writer on business, work style/lifestyle, and design trends and has lectured at corporations, universities and business associations in North America, Europe and Asia. Her work has been cited in Fortune Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Business Week. She is currently an active member of the Sustainability Roundtable, Inc., a shared-cost collaborative research program focused on corporate sustainability initiatives, and co-leads the strategy and portfolio planning community for the New York City Chapter of CoreNet Global, the world’s leading association for corporate real estate, economic development and workplace professionals.

She holds a degree in business from Baruch College, City University of New York, and completed graduate studies in the organizational and social sciences at Columbia University.
