Tigers Volleyball Spikes BMCC

by Carrie Thomas

(New York, NY)  The FIT Tigers stepped on the court with one goal—not to give up more than 10 pts per set.  They did just that!!  The Tigers cruised to a straight set victory over BMCC 25-4, 25-9, 25-3.

“It was great to see the team still perform at their level of play.  We set goals for this match just as we do for all of them.  We knew we wanted to keep them under 10 pts in each set and execute on the first ball every time.  This match gave our hitters the opportunity to fine tune some of our offensive plays and seek out the holes.  We kept the level of enthusiasm up the whole time and communicated with each other.  This match showed the true discipline of our players.  We committed fewer errors which was another goal of ours,” said Coach Carrie Thomas.

Megan Houff led the offensive attack with 11 kills.  Anna Buckley dished out 30 set assists.  Vivian Htam pounded out 7 kills and Rachel Carey had 6 kills and 10 digs.  Miranda Mitchell chipped in with 6 ace serves.  Alison Tyler and Michelle Vainblat defended the backcourt with 7 and 6 digs respectively.   Daija Simpson had one giant kill and 3 ace serves.
