FIT is where creativity gets down to business.
We are renowned for blending education and real-world experience, but we didn’t earn this reputation overnight.
Our leadership position is testament to the 60+ years of hard work and dedication from our faculty, staff, and students – plus help from industry partners, alumni, and other friends – who have helped establish FIT as a preeminent college of art, design, business, and technology.
Though FIT is a public institution and part of the SUNY system, it receives only just more than half of its revenues from the state and city. FIT must rely on private donors to support the college’s goals and provide scholarships, build first-class facilities, and continue the quality education in the classroom that distinguishes FIT.
All private gifts go through the Educational Foundation for the Fashion Industries, a separate 501 (c) (3) solely dedicated to raising money for the college.
