Mr. Joseph proposed a two-part project that would provide content for Hue, FITís alumni magazine, its website, and Hue, Too, the new magazine-related blog. For the first part of the project, he and an outside filmmaker, Larin Sullivan, produced a short film about hijab, the Muslim practice of observing modesty, featuring FIT students and Valerie Steele, director and chief curator of The Museum at FIT. For the second part of the project, he invited a scholar and cultural analyst from NYU, Dr. Thuy Linh, to give a presentation on campus about Asians in the fashion industry.
