FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
IS HOUSING GUARANTEED?
Housing is not guaranteed. Priority is given to the earliest housing applicants who are entered into Room/Roommate Selection process. All other applicants are placed on a waitlist and may not be requested as roommates in Room Selection.
I ALREADY LIVE ON-CAMPUS. DO I NEED TO COMPLETE AN APPLICATION?
YES; all residents must re-apply for housing annually.
HOW DO I APPLY?
To submit your application and non-refundable $300 credit card deposit, simply log-in to MyFIT > Click Student Tab > Scroll down to Housing/Residential Life > Click Fall/Spring Application > Choose “Apply Online” > Select Current/Returning FIT FALL application.

WHEN SHOULD I APPLY?
We suggest you apply as soon as the application becomes available. Priority is given to the earliest housing applicants.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?
FIT students must maintain 12 or more credits to be eligible. Students ineligible for housing through FIT’s Conduct/Judicial system will not be offered accommodations.
WHAT IS THE $300.00 NON-REFUNDABLE HOUSING DEPOSIT?
A $300.00 NON-REFUNDABLE housing deposit is required in order to complete & submit your application. Only credit card payments will be accepted. This is NOT an additional fee and will be credited towards your total housing charges.
HOW WILL I KNOW IF I’M CONFIRMED FOR ON CAMPUS HOUSING OR PLACED ON THE WAITLIST?
All applicants will be notified via email whether they are confirmed for on campus housing or if they are on the waitlist.
WHAT HAPPENS TO MY $300.00 DEPOSIT IF I DON’T RECEIVE A HOUSING ASSIGNMENT?
If FIT is unable to offer you on campus housing by the start of the fall semester, your deposit will be credited to your FIT student account.
