Winter Closings and Work Schedule Information
The three work days, December 26, 27, and 30, 2013, will be made up by full-time staff, non-classroom faculty, and classroom assistants working extra hours during the Winter and/or Spring recess or by taking leave time.
Full-time staff, non-classroom faculty, and classroom assistants are being asked to complete the Work Schedule Make Up Form and forward it to their supervisor prior to Monday, December 16, 2013. The supervisor will thereafter forward all signed forms to Johanny Tavares, in the Office of Human Resources, during the week of February 4, 2014.
Part-time staff, non-classroom faculty and classroom assistants who would have worked their regularly scheduled hours during this time shall make up the hours unless the employee chooses to forfeit their regularly scheduled work hours for that week. These part-time employees may make up the hours through January 31st. For example: An employee scheduled to work 4 hours on December 27 and 4 hours on December 28 may work an additional 8 hours any time through January 31st after consultation with his/her supervisor. Those hours worked should be reflected as "make up" time worked on the time sheet for the actual days worked.
Pursuant to an agreement with the UCE of FIT, the December 23rd work day will be as follows:
Full-time non-classroom faculty and classroom assistants charge a free day on the December 2013 leave report that is due December 19, 2013
Full-time staff may use one of their four remaining 2013 optional days of Columbus Day, Election Day, Veteran's Day or Lincoln's Birthday. If all four optional days have been exhausted, they may use a vacation day.
Part-time non-classroom faculty, classroom assistants and staff will be allowed to make up the time during the winter session.
