Students in FIT’s Packaging Design program are competing to create new eco-friendly beverage cartons. The competition, titled Project Carton, is sponsored by Evergreen Packaging, a company that specializes in eco-friendly, fiber-based packaging. The goal of Project Carton is to show how paper containers provide an opportunity for brands to communicate their environmental awareness to customers. “From a design perspective, paperboard packaging provides an excellent cost-effective platform for branding,” says Erin Reynolds, marketing director for Evergreen Packaging. “Cartons offer the perfect canvas to tell a compelling brand story and provide the informational content consumers want.”
Erin Reynolds will judge the competition along with industry experts:
Ron Sasine, senior director of packaging at Wal-Mart
Marcus Hewitt, chief creative officer at Dragon Rouge
