Ms. Smerklo is currently a Stability Evaluator at Givaudan, managing accounts such as Bath and Body Works, L’Oréal, and Bond No. 9. In this role, she is responsible for providing technical support to her clients by formulating and evaluating stabilities of fine fragrance and ancillary products, using knowledge of raw materials and fragrance interactions to problem-solve stability issues. Ms. Smerklo also works closely with perfumery, sales, and evaluation in creative fragrance development. She first joined Givaudan in 2008 as an Experimental Applications Chemist, compounding for a senior perfumer, and advancing to a secondary supervisory role. She has also undergone olfactive training, including FIT’s ABC’s of Fragrance Evaluation. Ms. Smerklo received a Bachelor of Arts in Cell Biology and Neuroscience and a minor in Psychology from Rutgers University, where she was a member of the Dean’s List. She was the recipient of the Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholar Award, Rutgers University, Merit Scholarship, and the National SMART grant. She also studied Spanish and is a member of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW).
