Maria Virginia Beltrao

Consumer Insights, International Flavors & Fragrances Inc.
Ms. Beltrao is currently the Regional Consumer Insights Manager for North America, in the Fragrances division at IFF. In this role, she leads work within the Global Fine Fragrance category team, partnering with fragrance creative development and category management by providing regional and global strategic consumer knowledge. During the last 2 years, she has been working with global and regional brands, including Estée Lauder, L’Oréal, P&G, Coty, BBW, Elizabeth Arden and Avon. Prior to her current position in New York, Ms. Beltrao managed Consumer Insights Fine Fragrance for the Latin American region of IFF, in their Sao Paolo, Brazil office. She played a key role in new market growth strategies, by providing consumer-olfactive expertise for local/regional beauty players such as Natura, Boticario, Avon and Belcorp. Prior to this, she worked as Regional Consumer Marketing Insights for Unilever Latin America, in Sao Paolo, where she gained exposure to different product categories and fields of expertise in the consumer goods industry. During her 14 years of combined professional experience in the industry, Ms Beltrao has built a multi-culture, multi-category and multi-expertise approach to fragrance development and brand strategic planning. Ms. Beltrao holds a Bachelor of Marketing Communication degree, summa cum laude, in Publicity and Advertising, with minors in Marketing and Planning from University Anhembi Morumbi. She is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish, proficient in French and has studied Italian. Ms. Beltrao is a member of Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW).
