During Add/Drop Period*
You may make program changes (add/drop) in person or by using MyFIT during the scheduled registration period through the last day of Add/Drop. Once your initial registration is processed, a $25 add/drop fee is charged each time you adjust your schedule in person. If you use MyFIT to change your schedule, the add/drop fee will not be charged.
After Add/Drop Period*
You may withdraw from a course up until the last day of the thirteenth week of a fall/spring semester. You will receive a final grade of WD on a course withdrawal completed in this timeframe, which will not affect your GPA. To officially withdraw from a course, you must submit a Course Withdrawal Form completed and signed by your instructor, and you, to the Registrar's Office in Feldman Center Room c158.
If you stop attending a class and do not complete the official withdrawal process, or if you want to withdraw after the thirteenth week of the fall/winter semester, you will receive a WF grade, which will negatively impact your GPA and could potentially affect your financial aid, housing, medical, or auto insurance.
Things to Remember Before Dropping or Withdrawing from a Course:
- Be sure it won’t affect future registration because of prerequisite requirements
- Housing, financial aid (especially TAP), medical and auto insurance may be affected if dropping/withdrawing brings your total course load below 12 credits (full-time status)
- The course withdrawal process is student initiated. It is up to you to obtain all signatures and return the withdrawal from to the Registrar's Office for processing during the allowed timeframe to ensure your withdrawal is made official
