Gordon EspinetGordon Espinet

Gordon Espinet is senior vice president of global artist training, development, and makeup artistry at M•A•C. Growing up in Trinidad as the youngest of 13 children, he would watch his mother, a talented seamstress, saturate silk with thousands of hand-sewn beads for her clients’ custom-made wedding dresses; he credits her with encouraging his creativity and individuality.

After moving to Canada and graduating from school, Espinet became part of the early team that groomed M•A•C into a creative powerhouse. Today, beyond spearheading artist training and development, he oversees makeup artistry for more than 800 fashion shows each year and champions a policy of inclusiveness, absorbing trends and cultures from all over the world to help create products for all ages, races, and sexes.

Janice KinjoJanice Kinjo

We are pleased to welcome back Janice Kinjo for her second year as makeup artist for the models walking the runway in FIT’s The Future of Fashion show. Since moving from Los Angeles to New York in 2003, Kinjo has established herself as a talented and creative makeup artist who is regularly called upon by celebrities for magazine features, interviews, music videos, and fashion shows. Her clients include LL Cool J, Drake, Chris Brown, Miguel, Taraji P. Hensen, Essence Magazine, XXL, Zink, and YRB. Kinjo’s work is often described as clean, beautiful and consistent.

Born in Anaheim, California to parents who are devoted followers of Soka Gakkai International, a Buddhist organization which promotes peace, culture and education for the betterment of the world, Kinjo credits this integral part of her life in helping shape and nurture her artistic confidence. Kinjo’s first professional opportunity came immediately after graduating high school when she landed a job as a make-up assistant for the independent film Snitch’d, starring Eva Longoria. Kinjo went on to receive a B.S. degree in International Relations from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles in 2003. While a student, she worked in theatre and on student films, relocating to New York after graduating.
